THE GOSPEL EPISODE 4.1 LOCATION: UNKNOWN {Until this point, it was always just Creed and his new prey. Now, after the events of Hog Heaven: Never Surrender, a new face is present within this inner sanctum. His name is Hardcore Jesus. As Creed stands smiling in front of the camera, HJ is seated in front of Creed’s victim; her arms and legs are tied together with a metal pole that reaches to the ceiling between her limbs and torso; her long, black hair slung low with her face pointed towards the floor; her newly-scarred back partially visible. HJ reaches out with his left hand and slaps her across the face. She starts to pout slightly but doesn’t truly cry or shake. Creed lets out a slight laugh before he begins.}Creed - Was there any doubt whatsoever? That’s what I must ask when anyone thought I had a chance of failing in my goal to ascend to greatness at Hog Heaven. All that lay in front of me was a slack-jawed yokel who’s susceptible to a boot to the face, a series of nameless faces who will fade away from the human psyche as well as the history books when all is said and done…{Creed looks over his shoulder at HJ who slaps the woman again to the same reaction. Creed slowly turns his attention back to the camera.}Creed - …and the best insurance policy a being such as myself could hope for. While I knew that my abilities would lead me to victory, I was unaware that my deeds would lead to another supposed despot, another personality like me, appearing and helping to guide me in my journey. The man that stands behind me is no stranger to the impudent fools that house themselves in the Boys and Girls Club. In fact, this man was so violent and warped your minds so terribly that he not only destroyed all who crossed his path but caused the banning of so-called “hardcore” matches in the Club. Luckily for you all, his was but a one time appearance as his wounds from his previous encounter still require the proper healing. Certainly, he can swing a weapon better than anyone on this planet but his body, his knee especially, just isn’t up to the standards of this… {in a mocking tone} …southern rasslin’ company.{Creed’s smile grows; basking in the knowledge of his insult to the fans.}Creed - However, he will continue to guide me towards my ultimate goal. He will help lead me to an RCW championship. He will help lead me to a victory over one of those who have scorned him.{HJ hits another slap on the woman who just growls at him; HJ’s left eyebrow rises.}Creed - But that is another matter for another time. No, unlike his puny disciples who failed in their match-up against the nobility, I am intelligent enough to focus on my opponents without the use of prosthetics, humor or costumes. The only humor I feel is when I break a man’s arm in half; laughing in his face as he cries for a mercy that will never come. I plan on laughing quite well and quite long at Southern Dynamite.{Creed flicks his hair back as HJ slaps the woman yet again. She growls at him in an even angrier tone.}Creed - Once again, I am handed but two young, establishment-loving fools who must be extinguished if this company is to see a new horizon. One of them has already been beaten and battered by your dear narrator. Because I beat Matt Cook so badly in our previous encounter, he gained enough intelligence to stay out of my path of destruction that was the Hog Wild Battle Royal. Now, the supposed figureheads have put him on the opposing side of a tag team encounter with a boy, a mere child, who shall be dealt with severely. Cook, I hope your feeble brain can still contemplate the pain I put you through the first time and will lead you to the correct decision to just stay away. Don’t come to Southern Dynamite, Cook, because you will only suffer even more so. Let your partner, the soon-to-be departed Lenny M Lansing, meet his fate of pain, destruction and doom at Southern Dynamite. That will prove to me and to those like me that you, finally, understand that my words ring true and that resistance is futile against me.{Creed’s nostrils flare as he breathes in deeply.}Creed - I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my “partner”: the man known simply as Vash. Vash, you have shown yourself to be a man of similar values to myself. You are one of the derelicts; one of the anti-establishment; one of the supposed freaks. You enjoy watching your opponents writhe in agony as I do. I believe that we will work well together. However, if you fail in this contest, if my star is even slightly extinguished because your shoulders stay down for three seconds, you will be the next to feel my wrath. Do what you do best and we’ll never have a problem at Southern Dynamite. Fail at such a feat and you’ll join the likes of Nebula, Isaac Comelightly and Quark as another one of this hick promotion’s “flashes in the pan.”HJ: Come on, you b*tch!{HJ slaps her even harder to which she responds with an angry shriek. Creed takes a slow-moving glance over his shoulder before slowly turning back to the camera without a second thought.}Creed - And then there’s the pretty boy of all pretty boys. The half-minded man-child who wants to do nothing in life but make the marks happy. Boy, as if the beating you sustained at the hands of Vash wasn’t gruesome enough, the beating that I give you will make your initials stand for Last Meal Leftovers as you won’t have enough time to suck on the feeding tube in your hospital bed. I will tear you apart, Lenny, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me. You may cry, you may beg and you may even plead but none of that will halt my assault on your puny, “normal” body. You will be the latest to realize that those who don’t live by my gospel shall die by it.{The girl screams even louder as HJ raises his hand again. This time, Creed stops him and signals for HJ to back away. Creed then sits in front of her and punches her in the face; blood dripping down from her battered face as a result.}Creed - I am here to wipe away the weak who populate this pathetic organization. People like Lenny and Cook are at the top of my list. Once I’m finished, once I’m satisfied that only the strong survive, will this truly be over as it’ll end with one of your precious RCW championship belts draped over my shoulder. You two despots will be but a warm-up for what is about to come as I will run right through the both of you; joyously proceeding to have my arm raised in the air.{Suddenly, the woman spits her blood-soaked saliva at Creed. He takes his left hand and wipes at his face; staring down at his bloody hand after doing so. Creed then looks back up at the woman and nods his head in agreement.}Creed - Goooood.{Creed then goes to get up but reaches back and nails her across the cheek with a back elbow; causing her to slump further and into unconsciousness.}Creed - Ahead of schedule.{Creed and HJ walk away from the camera and the beaten girl as the lights go out.}

The cameras come into focus inside the locker room of Lenny “M” Lansing moments after he lost to Vash at Hog Heaven: Never Surrender. Bettie Lee Rose tries to get a word from him, but he is visibly angry.
Bettie Lee: Lenny, we just saw you lose to Vash in the two out of three falls match and it's obvious you're not happy.
Lenny stops and looks over at Bettie.
Lenny: Not happy? ... NOT HAPPY?
Bettie takes a small step back as Lenny walks right up to her and gets uncomfortably close to her face.
Lenny: Of course I'm NOT HAPPY!
Bettie Lee: Don't feel so bad Lenny...
Lenny interrupts her.
Lenny: Sorry Bettie but back off.
Lenny takes the microphone from her and looks directly into the camera.
Lenny: VASH! Everybody saw what you pulled out there just now! I had you pinned for the one, two and three but conveniently the referee was knocked out of the ring. Then when I went to check on him, you took advantage and stole the victory from me.
Lenny is still almost shaking with anger as Bettie backs away more, shocked at seeing Lansing with such emotion.
Lenny: I'm sure you're going to claim you beat me two straight falls but you know that I had to beat Vash! You also know that I can beat you again so I want one more shot! YOU AND ME ONE MORE TIME VASH!
Lenny tosses the microphone back to Bettie and heads for the door of his locker room.
Bettie Lee: Where are you going?
Lenny: To get my damn rematch!
Lenny walks out the door and slams it behind him, leaving Bettie alone in the locker room.
Bettie Lee: Oh my word...
The camera fades to black.
FEW DAYS LATER
RCW cameras come in focus as we see Lenny “M” Lansing sitting on a chair next to Bettie Lee Rose, a Southern Dynamite banner hangs behind them on the wall. Bettie smiles at the camera.
Bettie Lee: Good afternoon fans, I'm joined right now by Lenny “M” Lansing. Lenny, you requested this sit down interview with me, what's on your mind?
Lenny rubs his chin before answering.
Lenny: Well for starters I wanted to apologize to you for not controlling my anger when you tried to talk to me at Never Surrender.
Bettie Lee: Apology accepted, we all get mad from time to time.
Lenny: Thanks, but most of the time I try to keep my cool. So today, I promise to stay relaxed so please feel free to ask any of the questions you wanted to a few days ago.
Bettie smiles.
Bettie Lee: Alright then, well how about we start with the obvious, you were very angry after your match with Vash and you said you wanted one more shot. This Thursday night for a special New Years Eve edition of Southern Dynamite, you get your wish as you team with Matt Cook to face Vash and Creed Michaels. How do you feel about getting another shot at Vash inside the ring?
Lenny smiles big.
Lenny: I feel great Bettie, I know I can beat Vash and more importantly, he knows I can beat him. Although this isn't a singles contest, I will still get my chance at facing him again.
Bettie Lee: How do you feel about Matt Cook being your partner?
Lenny: I've got absolutely nothing against Matt, he's like me in wanting to entertain the fans and find some success here in RCW.
Bettie Lee: Does it make you nervous that we haven't seen nor heard from him since he lost to Creed Michaels at Southern Dynamite 48?
Lenny: Not at all, I hope he will be there to fight by my side but if for some reason he doesn't show, then I guess I will go in alone. Whatever happens, I will be stepping into that ring Thursday night looking for redemption.
Bettie Lee: How do you feel about your other opponent, Creed Michaels?
Lenny shakes his head.
Lenny: He's the kind of guy I look forward to facing because I have no respect for him. He purposely looks to hurt and injure his opponents, it doesn't stop at a victory, he is out for blood each and every time. If I can put a stop to his brutality then I will.
Bettie Lee: We've seen the destruction both he and Vash can cause, how do you prepare to face both of them in one match?
Lenny: I just have to keep my head on my shoulders, don't get frustrated and just keep moving. I was born to fly Bettie and that's what I plan on doing.
Bettie Lee: You also must factor in Hardcore Jesus, who shocked all of us by not just returning at Hog Heaven, but aligning himself with Creed.
Lenny: Absolutely Bettie, I have not forgotten or overlooked Hardcore Jesus. All three men, him, Creed, and Vash are truly some of the most vicious and cruel individuals ever seen in Razorback Championship Wrestling. However, something they will find out soon enough is no matter what is thrown at me, I will NEVER back down.
Bettie Lee: What are your thoughts on Creed winning the Mr. Hog Wild Briefcase?
Lenny: Good for him, another unworthy person has gotten himself a title opportunity. I will be interested in seeing which belt he chooses to go for.
Bettie Lee: Creed referred to you several times as the “soon to be departed”, could that be true? Could Creed and Vash make it so you leave RCW?
Lenny: I'll say this much, as long as I am still capable of competing, I'm not going anywhere Bettie Lee. Creed can do his worst, Vash can knock me down time after time, and Hardcore Jesus can involve himself too, I am going to stand my ground against them. The fans want to see somebody take these guys down a peg and I am planning on doing just that in a few more days.
Bettie Lee: Creed claims that anyone who doesn't live by his gospel, will die by it.
Lenny: Talk is cheap Bettie, I'm sure you know that.
Bettie chuckles.
Lenny: I only live by one Gospel and I'll give you a clue, it's not his delusional ramblings.
Bettie Lee: Well we are running out of time, any last words for your opponents?
Lenny: Yeah.
The camera zooms in on Lenny as he focuses directly on it.
Lenny: Vash, you may have won at Never Surrender but Southern Dynamite will be a new day and I look forward to giving you what I owe you. We both know I can beat you and in a few more days, I will prove it inside that ring. As far as you go Creed, I'm already sick of your foolish ramblings and I look forward to facing off against you. Whether or not my partner shows up for this match, it doesn't matter. I will be there, ready for a fight. I am going to give the fans what they deserve, an exciting match that will see good prevail against evil. Thursday night, you two are going to feel the effects of the ADRENALINE RUSH!
Lenny grins as the camera fades to black.

{A camera fades into focus in a small clearing of woods. We see that it is slightly up-hill of the home of RCW's Vash. The camera pans slowly until Vash comes into view. He is splitting wood and speaking to himself as the camera observes.}
Vash: “In spring of youth it was my lot To haunt of the wide world a spot The which I could not love the less-- So lovely was the loneliness Of a wild lake, with black rock bound, And the tall pines that towered around...”
{Vash looks up as he splits another log. He seems to notice the camera's presence for the first time. He smiles slyly, then tosses the ax down so the head is stuck in the ground. He dusts off his hands and sits down on a nearby stump.}
Vash: “Time again to climb into the ring with the hopeless dreamers of the world. Idealists with their perfect worlds and visions of equality, nobility, and honor. Young, naive fools. Putting themselves on the line just to please an arena full of strangers. Cook and Lansing, you have both given your all for the entertainment of the masses. You allowed your bodies to be beaten by the likes of men such as myself and my partner Creed Michaels to earn their empty devotion. Such noble sacrifice in your eyes, to suffer pain on the path to victory.”
{Vash shakes his head and laughs as he reaches down and takes a drink from a nearby thermos. He sets it down and looks directly into the camera with a gleam in his eye.}
Vash: “But that is where your problems begin to compound themselves. Let me think back to your last individual matches... did either one of you claim victory? Hmmmmmmm... no I don't recall that either of you did. You both raced out to the ring with all your youth, enthusiasm, and vitality. You were so thrilled to hear the cheers of the fans. You put your heart, soul, and dreams on the line, in their hands. But, in reality, you put them in MY hands, and the hands of Michaels. And what did we do? We made our way to the ring the same as always, with confidence in who we are, not feeling the pressures to prove ourselves to the masses. We knew full well that we were the superior men in our matches. We took your noble sacrifice and destroyed it, claiming for ourselves the victories that were rightfully ours.”
{Vash picks up a stone and turns it over in his hand.}
Vash: “And what a victory it was for Michaels. He obviously has completely crushed the spirits of the young Matt Cook. Cook was so enthralled at the thought of wrestling in RCW for all the adoring fans, but where has he been these last few weeks since his defeat? Lansing, I think your comrade-in-arms in the 'good fight' has come to his senses. He realizes that those ideals you shared were foolish. In life you should never do anything to please others. The only satisfaction in life is living to your full potential for your own glory. The only tasks worth doing are those that bring you pleasure. Creed Michaels has an understanding of this truth. Others may see what he does in the ring, and outside the ring, as sick and sadistic. But he knows his worth in this world, that he is one of the few worthy of the path he seeks. His personal pleasure justifies his actions, just as my pleasure justifies my deeds as well.”
“Lansing, you claim to have beaten me, but I never recall the referee raising your hand over mine. You say I won our match cheaply, I just see it as strategy. I never intended to knock out the ref, but I used it to my advantage to lull you into a false sense of security. I let you get the upper hand to feel confident, and once the official was able to make the call, I took control again. I almost felt sorry for you afterward, seeing how upset you were at the loss. But I know your heart is still full of your naive ideals, so at our next meeting you'll be revved up again, ready to prove your worth to the crowd. We'll see how you feel about your career after Southern Dynamite. I've punished you once for your silly dreams, now my partner and I have no choice but to destroy you.”
{Vash tosses the stone away and looks at the camera again.}
Vash: “Speaking of whom, Creed Michaels, I appreciate the kind words, and I agree that we should work well together in this match. Great minds think alike, as they say? You don't have to worry about failure, but I must remind you, I do what I do because I am destined to, and I do it for no one but myself. In this case, it just works out well that we have the same goal in mind. I won't get in your way, as long as your way doesn't impede mine.”
{Vash stands and begins to split logs, again reciting under his breath as the camera fades out.}
Vash: “Death was in that poisonous wave, And in its gulf a fitting grave For him who thence could solace bring To his lone imagining-- Whose solitary soul could make An Eden of that dim lake....”
