MG: Hello again fans, your old pal Melvin Gates here, and thank you for calling the OFFICIAL RCW Hotline!
I've got one news item I can report EXCLUSIVELY to our loyal hotline callers. You may recall that on my last broadcast, I made note that yours truly was hot on the heels of the Roy Jones Jr. camp to get a comment on the upcoming exhibition match for Hog Heaven 3: On The Border against "Night Train" Clifton Pearson! Well, I'm sorry to report that my follow-up calls to team Jones have not been returned.
Well, I don't mind telling you fine fans that it raised a flag on old Melvin's radar, so I went to our own RCW Commish, "Fast" Franky Higgs, to ask what was up, and if indeed Mr. Jones was still planning to fight the Night Train at Hog Heaven. Not only did I get a "whatchu sayin, Daddy?" in response, I was assured by the RV King himself that not only was Jones going to be squaring off against the conductor of the "Pain Train," but that Higgs was so sure the match would go on, that he promised to refund each and every fan's ticket value if Roy Jones Jr did not show up!
Fans, those who have been here long enough know that Higgs likes to squeeze a quarter until the eagle screams, so offering any money out of his pocket at all seems like a sure thing that Roy will be there. But if that's the case, why no word from the Jones camp? I'm sure we'll get all the answers we need this Sunday in Texarkana. Make sure to join us for Hog Heaven 3: On the Border!
