So I'm trying to win my work's football pool. Here were my picks this week:
-The Texans were at home against Kansas City and were favored by a field goal. I pick the Chiefs. I guess that was a mistake because Houston handed them their ass 20-3! So there. 0-1. Bad start.
-My Buffalo Bills hosted the Broncos and were 3 1/2 point underdogs. How the hell did I know that Denver was going to win this, but we have a rule, you need to pick your team every week, no matter what. So I still had to take Buffalo. But Denver didn't cover, so I've got my first win of the season! 1-1
-The Browns hosted the Steelers and Pittsburgh was favored by 4 1/2. Don't ask me why I took Cleavland. I think our glorious Commish told me to pick that one. Bad choice. 1-2
-The Titans go into Jacksonville 6 1/2 point underdogs. Did somebody forget to tell the odds makers Vince Young was playing? I took Tennessee. I'm .55! 2-2
-The Rams hosted the Panthers and were favored by a point. I hate games like these. I think I flipped a coin. Bad move because I picked the Rams. 2-3
-My day got worse as The Eagles went into Lambeau to take on Favre's Packer's.....Damn him! Just retire already!! Philly was favored by a field goal. It sounded good! Damn you, Favre....2-4
-Finally things are looking up as the Vikings hosted the Falcons. Minnesota was only favored by a field goal? Did somebody forget who is QB in Atlanta? 3-4
--The Skins hosted my Mom's favorite team, the Dolphins. Washington favored by 3 and that's what they won by. Thank goodness tie goes to the underdog. 4-4
-The Pats go into the Medowlands to take on the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!! Too bad Brady and Moss handed it to them. I'm finally over .500! 5-4
-The Seahawks host the Bucs and are favored by 6. This was a no-brainer. 6-4
-San Diego hosted NFC champion Bears and the Chargers were favored by 6. I knew the Chargers were going to win, but not by 6! I was wrong. Again. 6-5
-Oakland hosts the Lions and the Raiders were somehow favored by 2. I only saw highlights but this actually looked like an entertaining game. Or nobody played "D". Anyways I picked the Lions. Point! 7-5
-The Cowboys hosted Da Commish's Giants and the 'Boys were favored by 6. Damn. This game was back and forth. I love a game when the best receivers are the Tight ends. Wow, that sounded a bit gay. Anyways, I picked the Cowboys. 8-5.
So Monday's first game gave us the Bengals and the Ravens. Classic Offense vs. Defense. Glad I picked Offense. 9-5
Then The 49ers played the Cardnials. I feel asleep for this one. but the Niners won, but not by enough. 9-6.
