New York City. The Alpha Storm Institute of Wrestling Arts. A small crowd of students are seated on a set of bleachers next to a wrestling ring. In the middle of the ring we see the teacher of this school, Ares. Ares sits in a folding steel chair looking out a the students.
Ares: Today's the day guys. James believes that he is ready to move on. He has been the head trainer here at the school for almost two years now and he wants to head into the big world now. So I'm giving him his chance to prove it today. We are going to go one on one. If he wins, he can sign a contract with RCW. If not, then he keeps training.
James Black walks out from the locker room of the school and gets a cheer from the crowd as he goes over and gets a few good luck hand shakes and high fives. James then climbs into the ring. He walks over to Ares as Ares stands up to meet him face to face.
[glow=blue,5,300]Black: I'm signing that contract tonight.[/glow]
Ares: We will see.
The bell rings.
Ares: I suppose I should have just let him sign. I don't know. I thought the match would be a good way to test his skills. En Fuego and I founded the school back in our New Era Wrestling days. It was meant as a way to train Mikey and the boys. To keep the Alpha Storm going. Mikey learned quick. Then again he could talk back in those days too. Pyros and Puck they didn't learn as much but they made a good team. Then we all went our separate ways. School closed for a few years and then Fuego and I opened it to the public to carry on the skills taught to us by Halo.
They tie up.
Ares pushes Black against the ropes.
Black shifts his weight and sends Ares into the corner. Black breaks the lock and lands a hard back hand chop across Ares chest. He follows it with three more. Then an Irish whip to the opposite corner.
Black charges....
Ares avoids....
Black stops before the turnbuckle. Turns....
And is on the receiving end of a kick to the midsection. Ares begins a barrage of kicks.
Black blocks most of kicks and charges at Ares pushing him back and separating the two men.
Ares recovers quickly nailing Black with a stiff dropkick before Black can get to his feet.
He was just a young kid from the city when I met him. I think he planned to train for Mixed Martial Arts but his first week he did a lot of damage to his left shoulder and hand. If you can't through a punch with both hands in MMA then you are in some trouble. So he stayed. Not particularly talented. Not really the quickest learner. But he wanted it. He had a desire to be the best and really thats the most important thing.
Ares has Black in the corner and scales to the top raining punches on his student.
Black responds quickly by pushing Ares up and over the ropes to the floor.
Ares braces his fall landing safely on the mat.
Safely being a relative term.
Another bit of his personality, he is rash and impulsive. He never thinks first. That can be a plus sometimes..... and a real negative other times.
Black quickly catapults himself crashing into Ares.
This is one of those first times. When Fuego put him in the hospital for four months was one of those second times. He thought he could make a quick name for himself and stiff our brawling professor during his second semester. After six months of non-stop training this kid decides it would be a really good idea to knee En Fuego as hard as he could right in the nose. It really was a hell of a shining wizard. Maybe the best I've ever seen. Prolly the best Fuego had seen too. Broken nose and all. Fuego nose was destroyed. Blood every where. Too bad for James though. James wanted the school to see a teacher roll out of the ring. Wanted to prove he was the best in the building. I can appreciate that. But a smart man would have chose someone other than En Fuego. Fuego didn't roll out of the ring, he didn't cry, he smiled, he laughed as a little blood bubble formed around his mouth, and then he attacked. It took ten students and Mikey to pull him off James. Three of the students ended up overnighting it in the hospital and James' face was an odd combination of black and blue for weeks.
Ares and Black are back in the ring and Black has Ares in position for his finishing move.
The Blackout.
But Ares slides out and goes for a backslide.

Kickout!!!
Both men are to there feet quickly
Standing enzigiri from Ares!
Then, of course, came his punishment. I couldn't just let him come back after trying to take out Fuego. He had made his choice, if it worked then he would have graduated right then and there but it did not, so now he pays the piper. James had to re qualify for school, which meant waiting for the next semester. He could have quit and went pro but he didn't. He then had to start from the beginning of his training. Basically flushing two years of his life away. Two years seems like a life time at that age. He could have quit. But he wanted to prove he was the best the school ever had. He wanted one of us to tell him he graduated.
Ares lifts Black to the top turnbuckle and positions him for the Mars DDT off the top.
But Black fights back. Three hard knees to the gut send Ares off the turnbuckle.
Black spins Ares around and pulls Ares up to the top.
Total Blackout....
Ares stops the move with some hard kicks to to the back of Blacks head.
Ares falls to the apron while Black falls into the ring.
Ares quickly hops over the top rope landing with his left foot on Black's back.
CURBSTOMP!
But Ares pulls off and calls for the bell.
Black gets up looking mad.
Ares holds his hands out in front oh him.
Ares: Enough.
[glow=blue,5,300]Black: I could have kicked out.[/glow]
Ares: We won't find that out today. You get what you want though. You can sign the contract.
[glow=blue,5,300]Black: Why?[/glow]
Ares: To make me want to bring out the curbstomp is enough to show your ready.
[glow=blue,5,300]Black: ..... I would have kicked out.[/glow]
