{Camera fades in. A lone figure seated overlooking a scenic lake comes into focus. The camera moves so the figure is in profile. The figure is RCW's newest talent, Vash. The camera moves behind him and focuses over his shoulder on a notebook in his lap. We can read bits and pieces as he writes.}
How can one argue the case of Mother Nature’s infallible abilities when Man has been imposing his will on her for centuries, forever destroying her work to make an even more beautiful masterpiece of his own…
Vash: “The world is full of people struggling, fighting so hard to attain what they desire. But only a chosen few are truly deserving. I know that I am more than worthy of all I hope for.”
{Camera moves to a profile shot again as Vash looks up from his writing to stare at the lake below.}
Vash: “And that is why I have come to join RCW. I’m sick of selling myself short and wasting time and energy in arenas that are beneath me. I’m tired of climbing into a ring and feeling like a dead man, a soulless being moving without a purpose. Maybe, just maybe, in this place I can find a challenge. Maybe I can find a fighter that will help me feel like I’m alive again.”
{He hears a bird call, and watches a blue jay flit past.}
Vash: “So, what shall I say about this debut match in RCW? Kip Reeves, I’ve heard that you’ve been out of action for months. From what I can tell you’re a drunk, washed-up has-been. I’m sure that even in your heyday, you weren’t worth anything, so I’m not wasting my breath on you. I’ll see you in the ring, do what I do best, then move on to someone worthy of a good fight.”
{Vash continues to stare out at the lake and the distant dam below for a moment, then waves the camera off as he returns to his writing. Camera fades out.}
