{The camera fades in as we see RCW interviewer Melvin Gates sitting in an over-stuffed armchair in the home of Vash. Vash is sitting nearby in another over-stuffed armchair, a roaring fire is between them. Melvin looks slightly uncomfortable as he sips from a large coffee mug. He notices the camera is recording, and quickly flashes a smile.}
Gates: “Welcome RCW fans! We have a special treat for you tonight, I've been invited by Vash to join him in his home this evening for an exclusive one-on-one interview. So, Vash, how do you feel about your last victory in the handicap match against Lenny M. Lansing?”
Vash: “Well, Melvin, I feel as good as anyone would when things go just as they expected. I knew that Cook was going to leave Lansing high and dry, and that he had no chance against myself and Creed. Creed and I were able to work together as a team and keep our mutual respect for one another.”
Gates: “What are your thoughts on your partner, Creed Michaels?”
Vash: “As I just said, we worked well together during this match as we shared a common interest and goal. That mutual respect will only go so far in the future, as I'm sure there will come a day when we must meet in the ring as adversaries. When that day comes, I should imagine that we'll all be in for a spectacular battle, but I would, of course, come out the victor.”
Gates: “The match at Southern Dynamite 49 was only your fourth match in RCW, yet you were put in the main event. What would you say to those who would argue that you haven't been here long enough to earn such a position in a show?”
Vash: “I would say that they haven't been listening to my promos or paying attention to my previous three matches. I feel I have fully proven my worth in this company and was given my due recognition by the management. They see that I walk on a higher plane than my opponents. I have destroyed every target put in front of me thus far, and I don't plan on anything other than victory and success.”
Gates: “What are your thoughts on RCW's new deal with Versus Network?”
Vash: “This is just another example of how my superiority has positively effected this company. Now that they have talent of my caliber, of course a major network is going to want to sign a deal. I joined RCW with the hope that I would be given greater challenges and experience bigger and better things. So far, this is the only way that hope has been fulfilled, but maybe it means the future will be brighter for me.”
Gates: “Are you implying that you don't feel like you've truly been challenged yet?”
Vash: “A quick look back at the opponents I've had would make that fact obvious. None of them have been worthy of meeting me in the ring. None of them have come close to meeting my standards. I've made light work of them and put them in their places. And now, my first match on Versus Network, and I'm still waiting for a worthy opponent.”
Gates: “So, I take it you have little expectations for Matt Cook in your upcoming match?”
Vash: “Little expectations? More like no expectations at all. The kid did the right thing by Pyros as far as I'm concerned. He could have tried teaching Pyros a lesson a little more, but the kid's soft so he just takes the win. Seems to me he's too soft, though, and he couldn't handle the 'guilt' of 'taking advantage' of Pyros. He let it get to his head, and that's part of what cost him the win against Creed. Creed showed him no mercy and gave him the beating that was due him, just tried to help clear the kid's head and remind him of why we are here.”
“But it just goes to show how soft this kid really is... he doesn't seem to be able to handle the pressure. He was given a spot in that main event too, and he didn't even bother to show up. For someone who seemed so hungry to make an impression in this company and this business, that certainly isn't the way to do it. He left his golden-hearted, naive partner to the wolves. I would love to see Cook in that ring come Southern Dynamite 50. I would be resplendent if he pulled himself together and show us what he can do. But, he's not going to be there. Even if he did attempt to prove himself in that match, he'll just end up failing. He's shown us his true color now I'm afraid, and its yellow.”
“I've said my piece before on how I feel about these young, hopeful dreamers that just live life spouting their ideals. You can't live off ideals if you don't have the ability to back them up. Up to now I've backed up every claim I've made and more than proven my worth and abilities.”
Gates: “Do you feel, then, that you will have one of the two fastest times and move on to the Southern Championship Challenge?”
Vash: “I've already said that my abilities are beyond those of anyone I've been pitted against, and in this situation I am fully confident that I will earn my position in the Southern Championship Challenge. And when I earn my spot with THE fastest time, I'll look forward to having some matches against some men that make the use of the word 'talent' seem to make sense in this business. It'll be a nice change having true opponents, but the outcome will always be the same, my hand raised high in glorious victory, the LAST MAN STANDING!”
“Now, Melvin, it's been wonderful having you here, but I feel its time for the evening to end. I trust you can find your own way out?”
{Vash chuckles to himself as he rises and walks off down a nearby hallway out of view. Melvin sits there for a moment, at first startled from Vash raising his voice, and then dumbfounded by his sudden dismissal and disappearance. Melvin laughs uneasily, but then clears his throat and again addresses the viewing audience.}
Gates: “Well fans, there you have it. Vash certainly seems confident, but will it end up being his downfall? Or will he prove himself again and earn his position in the Southern Championship Challenge? Only time will tell! Goodnight one and all!”
{Gates smiles as the camera fades out.}
