In case anyone had to be reminded, the biggest wrestling event in the history of the world (this year) will be happening Sunday. On that show, we have HBK-'Taker 2: Career vs. Streak. No question, NO retirement is ever permanent (ain't that right, Flair?) but it's no secret that both guys are looking to slow down after this show. Having said that, how do you guys think this match will go and can it possibly live up to last year's awesome encounter?
Also, feel free to mention anything else from Mania this year that you think may stand out (and no "it'll suck" copout lines...Tym. lol j/k)

No, this year... I'm BUYING Wrestlemania, baby. As for Streak vs. Career, my thoughts flip completely from last year. Last year I was like if anybody should end the streak, it was Shawn. NOW, Shawn had his chance, this rematch thing pisses me off cause I doubt they'll retire Shawn Michaels. And I now fully believe Taker should be able to retire completely undefeated at Wrestlemania. The only thing that would have made this better was if somebody had thought... "hey, didn't these two do the FIRST ever Hell in a Cell"... and put it on the bill. I REALLY thought Michaels was gonna call for HIAC when he said he wanted a match where you could only win by pinfall or submission. Still be an awesome match, but they REALLY missed about 500,000 buys at least by not making this match HIAC.
Hart/McMahon will be a rough match to watch. Bret's old, rusty, and his body probably doesn't work the way it used to pre-stroke. Love Hart, don't get me wrong, but this is a bad idea. I want to see the match more than anything, but w/ Vince being the worst active "wrestler" in the business today, and Hart not being what everyone's expecting him to be, this match'll be a let-down.
Money in the Bank- This'll be the 1st MITB I've ever seen. Being a heel fan, I'm voting for Swagger, Mcintyre, or Ziggler to take the match. Though the most likely candidate is somebody like Kofi to get a big push.
HHH/Sheamus- HHH gets his ass handed to him by my Irish-born brother. Nuff said.
Cena/Batista- I personally hope Basista powerbombs Cena off the roof of the building. Or at least onto the stairs again- "breaking his neck" like before, and making Cena take a couple months off, setting up a big rematch at Summerslam. Won't happen, though, "Champ in a Box- Just Add Water" will win and that stupid f*cking spinner belt will NEVER go away.
Legacy Triple Threat- Dibiase turns on Rhodes, getting the win and the big push into singles. Maybe they'll actually put the belt on him unlike his father, who was more than deserving of a World title run.
Edge/Jericho- Spear, spear. spear..... spear.
There's probably a match or two I'm missing, that just means they are crap and I dun care lol.

Considering those matches involve me and Adam's pic bases, I'm inclined to be p*ssed about that comment. lol j/k Alright, my thoughts on the show: -Taker stays undefeated and Shawn "retires forever"...till Summerslam comes up. lol If they can somehow top last year's match then they'll earn the first 5 star match rating for the WWE since...Taker vs. Shawn in the first Hell in a Cell. Weird, huh? -Edge takes the belt from Jericho. Kind've quick to take the belt off of Jericho but at least we should get an awesome match out of it (providing Edge's achilles tendon holds up). -Batista had D*MN WELL BETTER retain that FN' belt! In the immortal writings of One Night Stand II: IF CENA WINS, WE RIOT! ...still, Mr. I'll Blow Out My Shoulder on a Hip Toss will probably take back the belt. Why? The chicks dig him. -Show Miz will retain over Truth/Morrison. Certainly, Miz is running on borrowed time as a double champion but I just don't see them taking the belts off these two so quickly. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Morrison turns on Truth and forms a trio with the champs. -Sadly, Rey will beat CM Punk. Punk hasn't won often since losing the belt to Taker and has mostly served as the manager for Luke Festus "Fake Kane" Gallows during that time. That and I don't see Rey as a Straight Edge Society kind of guy. Would be interesting to see how they'd work the stip out though (would he unmask?) -MITB is really up in the air. I hear that not only will it be cashed in a lot sooner but maybe even later that night! So, with that said, I'm picking Christian to win, challenge his brother and take the title. Still, it'll be great because ladder matches almost always are. -Sheamus is the hand-picked successor of Trips...just not tonight. Sheamus gets crushed under the weight of HHH's ego. -Bret should kick Vince's a** no matter what shape he's in. The only way he won't is if someone gets involved (which is almost a guarantee considering the shape of these guys) and continues the storyline through the summer. I just hope Bret can carry it to an at least decent level. -Man, Orton's stock has really gone down since last year. This Legacy storyline has been all screwed up that it's a wonder they made it this far at all. I would like to see either Ted or Cody (leaning towards Ted) win but Vince's braintrust may "play it safe" and give Orton the win. Still, this storyline's been really messed up. lol |

i havent watched any wrestling in like three weeks due to work and family stuff so with mania being TOMORROW night, ive got ALOT of catching up to do.
i will make my predictions, thoughts tomorrow probably before mania.

He has the personality of plywood, and his promos are really dry. And as for the tag belts match, I dun really care. Tag matches bore me to no end- always have unless there were spectacular teams, which ShowMiz and Johnny "Monday" Nitro and K-Kwik are not. Thus my lack of caring for said matches. Also heard they threw in some 10-Diva thing too. Shame you can't pay pro-rated for PPVs. Call up your cable company and be like "yeah, I wanna order Wrestlemania, but I want to just skip like three matches, that brings the price down a little right?" lol |

I'm sorry, but I really think this years WM will suck more than last years. Only matches I'm actually looking forward to are Edge/Jericho and the MITB.
I really hope both Undertaker and Micheals retire after this match. It's time for WWE to start pushing some younger talent into the main event spots, which means you've got to get rid of some of the spotlight hogs. Don't get me wrong, I respect UT and Micheals, but they've had their time and there's not much else they can do that's fresh.
I hope they drop Jericho's whining gig after WM. Heel, face, or whatever, I want to see Y2J back.
I hope ShowMiz wins the titles for no other reason that the tag titles would hold Morrison back even longer.
As for Batista and Cena, I'd rather watch two snails wrestle. Same goes for Triple H and Sheamus.
The Hart/McMahon thing grew stale at week 2.
I'm just not excited about this years WM at all. I hope next year is much better, seeing as how I'm going to be there.

Alright, w/mania on in less than 30 mins... here we go
My pick of MITB is Christian, w/Kofi as a backup pick.
Undertaker vs HBK is stupid, sorry but i just dont see the reason after the AMAZING match they put on last year. no way will they be able to top it. Taker goes 18-0
Hart vs McMahon... this could be the worst part of the night, sorry... I am one of the biggest Hitman fans out there (not as big as John, but still, lol) after the stroke and stuff, Hart is in no condition to compete... i know its a "fight" but i just dont think it will be good. if there isn't interference, I will be shocked... I see Hart winning.
Cena/Batista... i wish batista would win but its Mania so Cena will walk away as new champ
MizShow will retain cause lets face it, they just threw morrison and r-truth together cause they had nothing else to do.
Rey vs Punk... I am PRAYING its Punk just to see how they will do rey as a member of the society.
legacy triple threat... either orton wins or ted jr... either way, i see cody taking the fall.
Divas match... not even sure what it is or if there is one... but I pick Beth as a winner, lol

grrrrrrr Adam got annoyed with me cause i drank a bit too much, but i was annoyed cause i only got four matches right!!!!
my (stupid) picks were:
Beth
Benjamin as first pick for MIB with Kofi as second (i know wishful thinking)
Brett Hart
John Cena (HATE HIM but knew he would win)
CM Punk (even though i kn ew stupid rey would win)
Sheamus (really hoped he would win, why did TRip H have to win? lets push the new/young guys please!!!)
Edge (love him grr)

Undertaker..... him and Micheals are like my two fav wrestlers but really guys, lets hang it up already ok?
MIB match seemed to have some major botching this year compared to other years
also some crazy/stupid/unnecessary camera cuts all night, why?
liked the drop-down circle Tron in the center of the ring, didn't like the lack of pyros for most entrances.....

At least you got 4 right. I was like 0 for the world tonight.
ShoMiz won, so yay, but really I only like Miz cause of his theme music.
Orton didn't put Ted over, so boo.
Trips used his "son-in-law" card again, so boo.
Swagger pulled out MITB which was awesome.
Rey, who I've had bigger subs than this guy, fends off three people- yuck.
Jericho beat Edge in an anticlimatic match.
Cena rips off Batista.
The Hart/McMahon thing started getting disturbing after the first five minutes. Just hard to watch.
Taker Micheals was AWESOME. Didn't really like the finish though- Taker should have just finished him instead of Shawn doing the slap thing.
All in all the matches were awesome, just the guys I was pulling for all lost cept for Swagger, ShoMiz, and Taker. The Edge/Jericho thing seemed more like a normal PPV finish setting up for another match next month, which should never happen at WM.
