[The past month has been a productive one for Doug Gavelon. Not only has he vanquished the threat of Ase in Hell on Earth but has also become a father during this time. Despite all challenges, Doug has remained at the top of RCW. However, a very familiar foe has risen against him again; an individual who has seemingly mirrored Doug’s run throughout RCW in both success and failure. That man is none other than Jeffrey Hollywood: the man so determined to take the RCW Southern Heritage Title away from Doug in his own home town. This sits on Doug’s mind as he sits in his apartment; staring at the camera sitting on the TV set across from him; his sleeping son resting in his arms.]
DG: Ever since I came to this company, it seems that one man was destined to be the foil in my life. The Lex Luthor to my Superman; the Erwin Rommel to my George Patton; the evil to my goodness; the man known as Jeffrey Hollywood. He’s a man who likes to say that the title which I have held for so long and defended so well is somehow, in fact, his. This goes against the fact that not only did I pin him the last time he had this opportunity but he was also defeated the last time he tried to gain a title shot in the SCC. The truth, Jeff, is that if not for your clout as FORMER champion and you sticking your nose in my business with your BFG stable mate Vash, you would not have gained another title shot against me.
[Carefully, Doug slides the baby up onto his shoulder; continuously patting the infant to insure that he remains asleep.]
DG: Jeff, you were granted this match by default and you know it. I’m not about to go over the “how” and “why” of it again but you became the only possible challenger as everyone else conducts their own, private little war. The sad truth is that while I became an even greater wrestler and champion, Jeff, you stayed in the same, monotonous spot. You can talk as well as anyone in the business but backing up those words has proven to be a greater and greater challenge each time. Any more, if you don’t conduct your matches in a stipulated setting then your chances of victory have greatly decreased. In other words, Jeff, you’ve gotten to the point where if you don’t compete in a match where pinfalls and submissions don’t matter but ultra-violence does, you simply can’t win. That’s why I pinned you all those months ago in the Iron Man Match. It had nothing to do with Ase but with the fact that I’ve become a much, much better wrestler than you and you know it. Sure, when last we had a one-on-one encounter, you did gain the victory. But as I stated, that was before I went from being a great wrestler to the BEST wrestler. You can lay claim to that title all you want but until you take the Southern Heritage Title from me, that title shall elude you.
[The baby lets out the slightest whimper as Doug starts to slowly rock him. Doug just smirks at the camera.]
DG: One other thing, don’t mistake my love for Gavin here as a sign that I haven’t been preparing properly for this match. Quite the contrary, I’ve never prepared harder as I want to leave no doubt, no excuses, who the better man is between us. We will have as classic a match as can ever be expected by two athletes such as us but I shall prove at Unbroken, Jeff, that I am not just the only wrestler that matters, not just the Burning Hammer and not just the RCW Southern Heritage Champion…but I am better than you. At Unbroken, in the Steel City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I shall end your last chance at my title as I dump you on your head before I put your broken body through Slow Death. Once I do, you, Jeffrey Hollywood, shall have to recognize that the best wrestler in the world possesses the name of Doug…Gavelon.
[Doug then stands up and shuts off the camera; proceeding over to Gavin’s crib to lay the sleeping child down for the night. After doing so, Doug proceeds into his own bedroom and looks upon his love Tiffany; silently sleeping. Carefully, he climbs into the bed before gently kissing her on the forehead. She barely stirs as he whispers “I love you” in her ear. He then turns over and tries to sleep as his mind focuses not only on Jeffrey Hollywood but also on his career and his life beyond.]
