"Brock Davids gets a taste of Humble Pie" An obviously frustrated Brock Davids walks through the backstage area, dragging his Natural Title on the ground by one of the straps behind him. A few people try to approach the champion, but he just keeps marching on toward his destination. Finally, he reaches the RCW locker room and tosses the belt onto a bench, releasing a sigh at the same time. He takes a seat on the bench and puts his face into his hands and just sits like that for a long while. The awkward silence is finally broken by the entrance of interviewer Melvin Gates into the locker room.
Melvin Gates: Brock?
Brock Davids takes his face out of his hands and looks up at Melvin, surprisingly not angered by Gates intrusion.
Brock Davids: Hey.
Brock talks in a very somber tone. He shows no signs of his usual cockiness.
Melvin Gates: Brock, I was just wondering if I could bother you to answer a few questions.
Brock Davids: I'm not really up to it right now, Melvin. I just got my hopes of becoming an undisputed champion squashed by The Phil and Doug Gavelon, now I'm just trying to figure out what went wrong.
Melvin Gates: I promise I won't take up too much of your time.
Brock Davids sighs before standing up and grabbing a black shirt from his locker. He slides the shirt over his massive frame and answers Gates.
Brock Davids: Alright, I guess I could give you a scoop.
Melvin Gates takes a few steps over toward Brock and the camera crew quickly gets into position to shoot the interview. Once they are all set up, Melvin begins his line of questioning.
Melvin Gates: Brock, all of RCW just finished watching you fail to come through on your promise to become the first ever undisputed RCW Champion, what are your thoughts on your performance in the match?
Brock Davids: Honestly, I thought I did pretty well in the match. The Phil's a crafty veteran and that's why he's holding the Southern Heritage championship and I'm sitting here in the back talking with you.
Melvin Gates: Why do you consider that you did pretty well, even though you were the first eliminated in the match?
Brock Davids: Well, over-the-top-rope battle royals are pretty tough matches. All the wrestling training in the world can't prepare you to have a man on every side of you, coming at you, trying to throw you over the top rope. I did my best with the little experience that I had and overall, I felt I did alright.
Melvin Gates: If I may say so, you seem awfully humble. Is this just a momentary change or are you maturing from your experiences here in RCW?
Brock Davids: To be completely honest with you, I don't know. I've changed so much over my time here, it's hard to know what's real. If you are asking me if I am learning from my losses, I don't know. In my loss to Alex Crowe and my draw to Adam Troy, all I got from my failure was anger. I blamed everyone else for my problems and never once thought that maybe I was the one to blame. However, my short coming in this battle royal is leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth. I was really set on becoming an undisputed champ and I may have just squandered my only opportunity at doing that.
Melvin Gates: I see. Well, another thing I wanted to ask you about was the big announcement made by mister AJ Supreme, The Circle of Legends, and it's first inductee, En Fuego.
Brock Davids: I think it's a great idea by AJ to really show respect to some of RCW's legends. As for En Fuego being the first one inducted into it, all I've got to say is congratulations. I don't know Fuego all that well personally, but I've seen a lot of his matches and I must say, I've got loads of respect for the man. He is the King of Hardcore and I think it's a good thing that he can now sit back on his throne while all of his peers here show him the respect he deserves.
Melvin Gates: Speaking of the happenings of Southern Dynamite 15, I just received word before coming here to interview you that you will be getting a rematch with Alex Crowe. What are your thoughts about facing the only man to ever defeat you during your wrestling career?
Brock Davids: He's the only man to ever defeat me?
Melvin Gates: Not including your draw against Troy, your match against him was the only one that you did not come out victorious.
Brock Davids: Well, obviously I want to prove to myself and all the RCW fans that I can beat him. It would be a real confidence boost to know that every man I've faced, I've beaten. In a way, by me competing in a match this week, I'm getting a leg up on Doug Gavelon.
Melvin Gates: How so?
Brock Davids: Well, while he is sitting at home, I'll be competing in a match, keeping myself as match ready as possible and I know I'll need to be at the top of my game if I am to beat Doug Gavelon.
Melvin Gates: Last week, you were talking about Gavelon being a has-been and that he had no future, now this week you are saying that you need to be in tip top shape to face him. What has changed to make you say that?
Brock Davids: I still think that some of what I said is valid. He did do a lot of nasty things in World Pro and that fact is never going to change. However, I went back and watched some of his matches in the World Pro vault and I must say, Gavelon is one of the best. He will definitely be giving me a run for my money at Hog Heaven 3.
Melvin Gates: Alright, well, I really want to thank you for this interview.
Brock Davids: It was no problem.
Melvin Gates: I look forward to seeing you in action against "The Illusionist" this week on Southern Dynamite and I wish you good luck.
Brock Davids: Thanks.
Melvin Gates puts his attention back on the cameras instead of Brock.
Melvin Gates: Well, there ya have it folks, an exclusive interview with the seemingly humble Natural Champion, Brock Davids.
Melvin and Brock look toward the camera before the seen slowly fades to black.
