*************
[The scene opens inside the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club. The ever-present ring in the main gymnasium is currently occupied by two familiar faces of RCW fans. The first is the RCW Natural Champion Doug Gavelon. The second is his lover, Tiffany. Doug is dressed in a black t-shirt and red shorts while Tiffany is wearing a light blue tanktop and tight pink shorts. Currently, they're standing in opposite corners of the ring.]Tiffany: So, what are we working on today?DG: Chain wrestling. We'll keep going until you can prevent me from putting you on your back.
Tiffany: [Smiling] Well, I win either way.[Doug responds with his own smirk but then turns serious and charges at Tiffany. He hooks her hands in a Grecco-Roman knucklelock before hooking his legs around her waist and slinging her over his body and to the mat. With a firm grip still on her hands, he rolls himself over and ontop of her.]DG: Always be ready for your opponent to strike. They'll do everything they can to lull you into a false sense of security.
[Tiffany stares up at him a little shocked.Tiffany: I see.[Doug finally lets go of the hold and lets her up.]DG: Let's try it again.
Tiffany: Bring it.[With a devilish smile, Doug charges again. This time, Tiffany sidesteps him but Doug manages to hook her arm and hits an armdrag. Tiffany gets to her feet and goes for a flying headscissors. Doug catches her legs, hooks her head and gently places her onto her back on the mat. Once again, he places himself ontop of her, staring into her gleaming, brown eyes.]DG: You had the right idea but your blind rage got the best of you. Never lose your composure when you attack.
[Obviously irritated, Tiffany glares back at him.]Tiffany: If you think that was blind rage, wait till I get up.[Intrigued, Doug gets up and Tiffany does a nip up. Doug's eyebrows raise in surprise. She takes a wrestling stance and prepares for Doug's attack. He goes for a lockup but she catches his arm and hooks in an armlock. He reverses it into a side headlock but she bounces him off the ropes and hits a flying armbar. Doug prevents her from fully locking in the hold by holding his hands together. Tiffany transitions from the armbar and hooks in a triangle lock. Doug squeezes his head out and goes for a leglock. Tiffany gets to her feet so that they're facing each other with Doug grasping her left leg. Tiffany then takes her right leg, does a backward flip out of the hold and takes him down with a front body press (it's named after a famous wrestler but the name escapes both Doug and Tiffany at that moment.) Tiffany stares down at Doug, all the while panting, until she falls upon him and they passionately kiss each other. Doug then rolls her over onto her back as they continue their tender moment before he tears himself away from her lips and with a smile says...]DG: I win again.
[Tiffany throws her head back onto the mat with a smile and just rolls her eyes before looking back up at Doug.]Tiffany: That's why you're still the champ, babe.[Doug reaches down and kisses her again.]DG: At least for a little while longer. If you keep this up, you may be the champ before long.
Tiffany: Well, at least until after School of Hard Knocks anyway. That Sinclair guy has no idea what's in store for him. You've improved so much since your last match with him.DG: You've got that right. Lightning isn't about to strike anytime soon, especially at School of Hard Knocks.
[Doug gives her one more smooch before helping her up. They exit the ring and each grab a towel as they wipe themselves down.]DG: Besides, you would've had his wife beat if he wouldn't have interfered.
Tiffany: Thanks, hun. I really want to get back into the ring.DG: Why not enter that Hog Wild match? I think it'd be great experience for you and that $10,000 would be a nice little bonus.
[Tiffany flashes him her notorious smile and hugs him.]Tiffany: That sounds great to me. So how are you feeling about your match?DG: Awesome. Like I said, lightning ain't gonna strike and Sinclair isn't walking out of that place with my belt, no matter how great of a match it is.
Tiffany: So what do you think of him saying he won't extend his hand to you this time?DG: I'm not surprised. Ever since he brought in his wife, Brett and Rocky, he's been showing what I would call his true colors. His attack on me and you at Southern Dynamite only confirms that his attempts at respect are a facade.
Tiffany: Definitely. So, when should that camera crew be getting here?[Doug reaches into his bag and pulls out his watch before answering her.]DG: In a few minutes.
Tiffany: Is it enough time for some more...extensive grappling?[Tiffany gives a sly smile which Doug returns.]DG: Sadly, no. After we're finish with the crew, I'll give you all the "training" you want.
[They stare into each other's eyes as Tiffany gives him a seductive look. Just then, the camera crew walks into the gymnasium. Doug greets them with a nod.]DG: Right on time.
[Doug turns back to Tiffany.]DG: Shall we?
Tiffany: Let's.[Doug and Tiffany meets with the crew as they decide where to set up the shot. They decide on the center of the front row with the wrestlers' entranceway behind them. Doug reaches into his bag and grabs the RCW Natural Title belt before setting his bag behind him. They sit in their chairs with Tiffany on the right of Doug. He slings the belt over his left shoulder. They begin their countdown and after the producer finishes, Doug begins to speak.]DG: Hello, Chris. How's it going? I hope you and your wife have recovered from those several hours stuck in traffic. As you can plainly see, I've recovered from all the dings I sustained from you blindsiding me with my own belt.
[Doug forces a smile onto his face as he puts his right arm around Tiffany.]DG: But I'm not worried right now about that and I know Tiffany doesn't really mind you interfering in her match at Southern Dynamite against your wife. Why? Because we know that all of the bs and the supposed mind games you've been pulling these past few weeks, I'll be taking out of your a** at School of Hard Knocks. I'm not running or hiding from you, Sinclair, which I'm sure ruined your biggest dream about our match up. All I've been doing is going through some extensive training to make absolutely sure that I'm in top physical shape for our match. There will be no doubt in anyone's mind who is the better man after our match and that man's name is Doug Gavelon.
[Doug places the belt on his lap, leans back in his chair and motions his hand towards the seats.]DG: I want you to look around this place, Sinclair. Look familiar? It should. It's the place where I first beat you and retained my RCW Natural Title. It's also the place where I defeated your partner, Brett Johnson, one-on-one, and at the latest Southern Dynamite when me and Alex Crowe not only defeated you both but Tiffany beat your wife to a bloody pulp.
[Doug puts his belt back on his left shoulder and puts his left arm at his side.]DG: Sounds like one unlucky place for you and yours, doesn't it, Chris?
[Doug chuckles before putting his left hand up to his face and wiping it away.]DG: But I know the truth: the location doesn't matter because the result would be the same whether you and me square off in the Toronto Skydome or the back alley of a KFC. You're a great athlete; there's no doubt about that. However, you just can't beat me, Chris. You can talk all you want about how motivated you are and how you think I have more to lose than you do but it won't change the result of our match at School of Hard Knocks: another victory and successful title defense for yours truly. In fact, the only reason you're even in this match is because of two factors. First...
[Doug holds up his left index finger.]DG: ...you took that "hard fought" 3 the Hard Way round robin challenge. It's obvious that while Davey Boone had talent, he lacked the focus needed for this business and as for Brock; he was never the same after I defeated him for this title.
[Doug glances down at the belt before turning back to the camera and also holds up his left middle finger.]DG: Second, anyone who's anyone knows that it's pure electricity everytime you and I step into the ring. So, seeing as how I've been running through the roster ever since winning my title, you would've been the natural choice for a title shot anyway, no pun intended.
[Doug puts his hand down and rests it on his knee.]DG: You see, Chris, a matchup between me and you equals a huge profit for RCW, no matter how terrible your chances are of winning. It's just like whenever I was first starting in that company whose name shall not be spoken and there was a big pay-per-view coming up. PDJ, the World Champion, was in need of an opponent with a big name. The former RCW stalwart David Capital fit that bill. Did they have a great match? Of course, they did. Did anyone think at anytime that DC would have a chance at winning the title that night? No way in h*ll. He was just in the right place at the right time and an outstanding matchup was built because of it. Chris, that's what you are right now: the big name that fits the bill for a great title defense. A great, SUCCESSFUL title defense.
[Doug looks down at the ground and chuckles to himself, as he seems to be thinking to himself. He brushes back his hair with his hand and continues.]DG: I still think it's funny that you keep harping on how I beat you with a suplex. You think that impresses people, Chris? That it didn't take a Burning Hammer or a Final Judgment to finish you off but a simple belly-to-back suplex? At that rate, you'll be bragging to everyone within earshot if I beat you this time with a backslide or a sunset flip. Also, you spoke of how I had more left in the tank than you did when I got my shoulder up. That's called digging down deep and being a champion. By admitting that you didn't have that shows that you didn't have "it" during our first encounter and if our tag team encounter is any indication, I still don't think you have "it." Whether or not you have the intestinal fortitude to be a champion doesn't matter when it comes to School of Hard Knocks. You can talk about being ready, you can say that "lightning will strike" or that "on any given Sunday" speech coaches use to fire up the underdog but, just like that little traffic problem you had, your hopes and dreams of becoming a champion at School of Hard Knocks will come to a screeching halt.
[Doug's expression turns deathly serious as his eyes stare coldy into the camera.]DG: You say that we don't need a stipulation added to our match to put on a classic and you're right about that. You're also very lucky because then I would end your life, as you so gloriously expressed in having done to you. No, Chris, I don't need to kill you to retain my title; just crush your spirit and destroy your dreams. The loss I hand to you will finally put you in your place. You've done well against some of the lower tier talent in this company but you've still never beaten a top tier guy whose spirit I haven't already broken. You don't think you have everything to lose but you're wrong. What chances do you think you'll have of getting another rematch with me or, God forbid, a shot at the Southern Heritage Title when I beat you again? Absolutely none. You'll be shutout from climbing the ladder again and rightfully so. Unless I lose to someone down the line, which doesn't look very likely whatsoever, you will never get a title shot. I know you, Chris, even if you won't admit it. You, like me, are a true competitor and you ache for achievements and gold. Without even a chance at obtaining such a goal, you and your career will whither away and die. Your Horsemen are already subpar now. After I beat you again, how big of a joke do you think they'll be? Think about it: everyone will be saying, "These guys can't be as good as they say they are. Look at how bad their leader got beat." Face it, Sinclair, you're fighting not only for your career but the careers of your partners in crime. When you crumble, they all crumble. Can you, honestly, look at yourself in the mirror after you realize just what you've done to the careers of your friends?
[Doug chuckles to himself.]DG: I don't think so, Chris, but that's the bridge you'll have to jump when you come to it after School of Hard Knocks. You won't extend your hand to me by choice but your partners-in-crime won't extend theirs to you after our match because they'll hate you for ruining their lives. Chris, as much as I respect you, and I do, I will end your career at School of Hard Knocks when I dump you on your head because you want something that I have.
[Doug points to the title over his shoulder.]DG: This: the RCW Natural Championship; my personal property and the measuring stick for everyone in this company. At School of Hard Knocks, I will be the one who puts you in your place and prove to everyone that, as long as I am the champion, you will never hold this title. Chris, at School of Hard Knocks, I will win, you will lose and the fans will enjoy every moment of the beating that I give you. They will enjoy watching the only wrestler that matters. They will adore the Burning Hammer. They will love watching me...Doug Gavelon.
[The producer yells "Cut!" and the crew takes care of all of the equipment. Doug and Tiffany shake hands with the crew as they take their leave. Doug and Tiffany turn toward each other and wait for the sound of a closing door. When they do, they both smile widely as Tiffany leaps into Doug's arms and they passionately kiss. As Tiffany jumps back to the ground, they continue to embrace.]Tiffany: You sounded great, hun. I really hope Sinclair's fully prepared for what's going to happen to him at the show.DG: I hope so, too. Otherwise, he's in for a very hard fall.
Tiffany: Do you think he'll bounce back at all after you beat him?DG: There will always be a spot on the card for a guy with his talent but I just don't see him moving back up the ladder without me losing my title and that's definitely not happening anytime soon.
Tiffany: I know.[She leans in and kisses him again. After which, Doug has a devilish smile on his face.]DG: So, are you ready for that extra training session?
Tiffany: Oh yeah, but not here. If there's any little ones running around this place, it's best they not see your...outstanding technique.DG: Great idea.
[The two grab their belongings and exit the building. They approach Doug's Chevy Cobalt and throw things in the back seat as Tiffany takes the passenger's seat and Doug takes the driver's. They then drive off towards their apartment.Later that day...
[Doug and Tiffany return to their apartment and run into the room; closing the door behind them. They set their things on the couch and then stare at each other, smiling. Tiffany stares at Doug with a hungry look in her eyes as she puts her index finger in her mouth and gently nibbles on it. She then walks over and grabs Doug's hand as they proceed into the bedroom. Doug turns on the lamp next to the bed as Tiffany shuts the door. Doug then picks her up and places her down on the bed as she laughs. He gets on top of her and places his face within inches of hers and they stare at each other in a wonderful kind of silence. Doug then slyly smiles at her.]DG: So, for this "training session," I want you to remember the three lessons I taught you today.
[Tiffany looks up at Doug with a confused look.]Tiffany: Three?DG: Of course. Be ready for anything because you never know how aggressive your opponent will be. Don't go into the encounter with blind rage because you'll need your energy.
Tiffany: So what's the third?[Doug leans in and gently kisses her on the lips before continuing.]DG: Always remember that I love you.
[Tiffany smiles before developing that hungry look again. Doug begins kissing her on the neck and as he begins taking off her shirt, she turns the lamp off.]
