The scene is inside of the Beauchamp residence in Kentucky. Cletus and his eldest boy Early are seated in the living room of the home. They are laid back watching an old television complete with tin foil on the rabbit ears.
Early: Daddy, the boys down at tha' hardware store said that our teevee won't work next year. They said that we either got to get one of them hd teevees or that we gotta' buy some kinda perverter box.
Cletus: I think they said converter box, but it won't matter by next year.
Early: Why's that daddy?
Cletus: Cause after we beat Doug Gavelon and Alex Crowe this week, AJ Supreme will recognize my talent.
Early: You mean "our" talent right, daddy?
Cletus: Aint that what I said.
Early: Maybe you did. So you aint worried about Doug and Alex?
Cletus: Shoot naw. Doug Gavelon is a woman beater son, and that's cowardly. The lowest of the lows. Through the whole ten months me and your mama was together, there was plenty of times that I wanted to slap her jaws...but I never once did.
Early: Cause' you loved her right?
Cletus: Well, that and that she outweighed me by almost a hundred pounds. BUT the biggest reason that I never struck your maw was because I got respect for women. That's something that Doug Gavelon doesn't have.
Early: I think that boy's cheese has done slid off his cracker. That's what I think, daddy.
Cletus: You could be right son, but it could be another reason. Could be that Dougy is learning that he can't hang with the big dogs anymore, so he's got to slap around his girl to make himself look big.
Early: That just makes him look like a coward to me, daddy.
Cletus: Doug probably doesn't see it that way.
Early: He says he didn't do it.
Cletus: Well son, when your mama told me she was pregnant, I told her that I didn't do it either...but I knew I had. Not every case comes out that good.
Early: You mean me, daddy?
Cletus: Yeah. Doug is spinnin' a yarn to everyone in RCW, and all the fans. He knows he's the one that beat the tar outta Tiffany. That kid Chip done told everybody.
Early: So one of em's a liar, that's for sure. So what about Alex Crowe.
Cletus: He couldn't get the job done last week, so what makes him think he can this week.
Early: Well, he could pull one of them tricks on us.
Cletus: The best trick that Alex Crowe could do at Southern Dynamite is a dissapearin' act.
Early: That would be neat to see. How's he do them tricks, daddy?
Cletus: I know all of em', but a magician never reveals his secrets.
Early: Do one daddy, do a trick.
Cletus folds his thumb over, holds his index finger around his other thumb and pretends to pull it off.
Early: Wow.
Cletus: I've got more. I'll show you some later, if you promise me something.
Early: What's that daddy?
Cletus: You gotta' take Willy Franklin his bike back. I'm gettin' tired of him asking me for rides home from the show.
Early: But daddy, I put an old baseball card in the spokes and even bought a horn for it.
Cletus: Doesn't matter son, it wasn't yours.
Early: Okay, I'll give Franklin his bike back at Southern Dynamite.

9/28/08 Fayetteville, AR ************** [The days and nights since Chip’s supposed revelation at the recent Southern Dynamite has left Doug Gavelon even more despondent. He’s turned off his answering machine and doesn’t answer his phone. His days are spent either watching his collection of home movies or looking at pictures of Tiffany. His eyes are now bloodshot and dry as he seems to have run out of tears; at least, that’s what he thinks to himself. On this day, he actually gets a knock at his door. He stands up from his couch and slowly walks to the door. He carefully opens the door and sees that it’s the camera crew that he asked for. They stare at him with a look of reserved fright. Finally, one of them manages to speak up.]Camera man: Uh….hey, Doug….we’re here like you asked.[Doug fully opens the door to which the crew takes a step back. Doug just shakes his head.]DG: Come on in. [The crew cautiously walks into Doug’s apartment. They set up the camera in front of Doug’s couch while he goes to the refrigerator. The main camera man looks at the TV screen and sees one of the video’s many close-ups of Tiffany’s smiling face. He suddenly gets a chill down his spine. Doug comes back out with a bottle of water and a six pack of Pepsi.]DG: Feel free to have a few, guys. [Doug reaches the six pack out to the crew and they nearly fall back into the wall as he does so. Doug just looks at them in anger and slams the Pepsi down on the table.]DG: Well, since all of you have decided to agree with Chip, let’s get this over with so you guys can go cower in fear of “big, bad Douggie” somewhere else. Camera man: Sorry, Doug. It’s just that-DG: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You’re all really uneasy around me. I know because that’s been everyone’s excuse since Tiffany was attacked. I can only say I’m innocent so many times before I give up on you people. Now, like I said, let’s get this sh*t over with. Camera man: ….you’re right. Here we go.[The crew finishes setting up as the camera is focused on Doug’s frustrated face. The red light flickers on. Doug pauses a few minutes before he begins.]DG: You know, it’s shocking to me just what people are willing to believe. In every story, there’s always the case of someone saying they heard someone else saw something terrible. Then, when you ask that person, they say they heard it from someone who was there. The truth behind the story is lost, the confusion is accepted as fact and everyone under the sun has an opinion about it. [Doug looks down at the floor, as if in disgust, before returning his gaze to the camera.]DG: So, people are willing to believe this pimply-faced geek instead of me. This smart-a** idiot who spends more time kissing up to AJ than he does actually working. This kid who would spend 68 cents for a quarter. This fool whose word is about as useful as a cancerous cist on a guy’s d*ck. [Doug’s eyes seem to grow with rage as he pauses for a moment.]DG: Chip, I want you to hear me and hear me well. I don’t know what sort of game you’re playing or why you would say something about me but know this: my match is the main event. I get to wrestle last at Southern Dynamite. That gives me plenty of time to hunt you down in whatever dark, dingy basement you choose in which to hide. I will find you and take out my vengeance upon you. [Doug takes a deep breath and pauses once again to compose himself.]DG: Like I said, in every story, there’s the storyteller and there’s the opinionated fools who listen to him. In my opinion, there’s no one in RCW more foolish than Cletus Beauchamp and his dim-witted son Early. You consider me a coward and a loser over the claims of one idiot and an all-too-trusting crowd? Cletus, if you truly think that, then you should take a good, long look at yourself in the mirror. You’ve lost every single match in RCW up until Southern Dynamite 25 when you beat my partner this week, Alex Crowe. The reason: your son came down with his new toy he bullied away from Willy Franklin. Not exactly what I would consider a credible victory. Until you gain a win where someone doesn’t provide a much-needed distraction, I wouldn’t go around bragging about how people will take you seriously now. [Doug wipes back his mangled hair with his right hand.]DG: Because you THINK I hurt Tiffany, that makes me a coward, right? You hide in fear of Early’s mother and almost burst into tears every time AJ shows your name on the booking sheet and yet I’m the coward? Cletus, you really need to think about what you say before you start throwing stones. You’re not as innocent as you would like people to believe. You’re just like a politician: pushing all of the bullsh*t onto your opponent so they forget about the crap that goes everywhere with you. You keep bringing up people’s suspicions of me so they stop booing you for being “Kentucky Pride.” Well, Cletus, I’m not about mud slinging, I’m about action. At Southern Dynamite, I will show you who is the real coward. I will beat you so bad that you’ll never want to step into that ring again. I will beat you so bad that you will continue to hide behind your son’s juvenile success. Cletus, your judgment day will come at Southern Dynamite. [Doug then pushes some of his hair to one side to fully show his scalp. He then points at a certain spot that’s black and blue.]DG: Camera man, get a good shot at this spot here. [The camera man gets a close-up of the nasty spot on Doug’s head.]DG: Look at it, Early. LOOK AT IT! [After a few moments, Doug finally puts his hands down and the camera pulls back out.]DG: That’s where my head hit the post in our one-on-one encounter at the last Southern Dynamite. This is what set me off and forced me to annihilate you with those knees. I haven’t forgotten and I won’t be able to for several more weeks when this thing heals. I’m sure you’ll remember it, too. I’m sure you’re bragging to everyone on how you caused Doug Gavelon, the champ, to bleed. Just remember that what goes around, comes around. This week, at Southern Dynamite, the blood spilled will be yours, the bruises will be on your forehead and the pain will be all yours. I hope you enjoyed our last encounter because this week will only be more of the same. [Doug puts his two hands together and under his chin as he rests his elbows on his knees.]DG: This week, you people will see the destruction of the Beauchamp family at the hands of yours truly. This isn’t because I want to but because I HAVE to. When all the love in my world died, all that was left was sadness and pain. When you turned your backs on me, it became frustration and anger. So, now I’m suffering not only from the loss of my beloved but by the loss of my fans. I now cause destruction in the ring to deal with my frustrations and will continue to do so until the pain ends. I’m sorry to say, especially for the Beauchamps, that I don’t see that happening anytime in the near future. Prepare for the end, both of you. [Doug stops talking and looks at the crew. The crew, expecting his usual ending, doesn’t stop rolling right away. Finally, after several moments, they finally stop recording. They try to make peace with Doug with smiles but his demeanor doesn’t change. They gather up their things and quickly leave. When the door shut, Doug can no longer hold in his emotions and breaks down again.]Later that night… [As Doug falls asleep, he begins to dream…of horrible things. He sees the night he attacked Tiffany in 2006, over and over again. Finally, the attacking stops and Tiffany is standing in front of Doug with a smile on her face. Doug just stands there with a confused look on his face. Tiffany offers her hand to him. After a few moments he tries to accept it but she begins to float away. He tries harder and harder to connect with her but she floats away into a black abyss. Doug runs after her but is stopped dead in his tracks when he sees….himself. Or is it? This other Doug is inside a glass box the size of an apartment’s living room. The two Dougs stare at one another; the Doug on the outside with a confused look while the Doug on the inside has an evil smile. This second Doug finally breaks the tension by speaking.]D2: So, you finally found me again, huh?DG: What? Who are you? D2: I’m you…or at least I was a couple of years ago. Of course, that was back when you weren’t a total weakling.DG: What are you talking about? D2: Face it, Douggie. You need me now more than ever. You need that vicious side that helped you become World Champion and be dominant over that p*ss ant little company back in the day. You need me because I was where you’re at now only I didn’t give a d*mn about Tiffany.DG: I don’t need your help. I know exactly who can help me without having to lose my soul. D2: Who, Nate? You think “Mr. Straight Order” can really help you now? I guarantee everyone will say he’s your co-conspirator. Besides, are you even sure he had nothing to do with it?DG: I don’t think he did. He was wrestling somewhere up in Maryland. D2: That’s just what he wanted you to think. You know how dedicated he is to wrestling. You don’t think it’s possible that in his infinite wisdom, he saw Tiffany as a threat to your stability as champion and took her out for you?DG: No, that’s not possible. D2: Then again, you’re not even sure if YOU did it or not?DG: I didn’t do it. D2: Okay, Mr. Brightside. Whatever you say, Douggie.DG: I didn’t do it! D2: You know you’re starting to sound like a broken record.DG: I DIDN’T DO IT! D2: Fine, then maybe I did. Maybe it’s you who’s inside this glass prison.[Just then, the first Doug realizes that he’s now the one inside the glass with the second Doug being on the outside.]D2: Maybe I finally escaped that boring little place where you left me….and your b*lls.[The first Doug begins banging on the glass; trying to get out.]D2: Now, now, Douggie, there’s no use in that. Besides, maybe neither of us is inside the glass.[Suddenly, the glass prison is gone; leaving the first Doug with a look of confusion and frustration. He turns back to the second Doug with hatred in his eyes.]DG: Why in the hell am I here?!?! D2: You’re here because I’m now strong enough to take back what’s mine. The people’s inability to trust you and your inability to trust them has made it so I now have my chance to break out of here. So, get ready, because this Doug’s going to run roughshod over RCW.DG: The hell you are. [The two Dougs begin fighting each other. This continues for several minutes as both try jockeying for position. Finally, the second Doug grabs the other around the throat with both hands and causes him to drop to his knees. He then tries to choke the life out of him.]D2: You see, you can’t defeat me. What chance do you think you have against those outside? You can’t win, you’re not strong enough and you never will be.DG: YES I AM! [The first Doug then takes the other’s arms and throws them back. He then connects with several knees to the second Doug’s face which drives him back further. The second Doug charges at him but the other lifts him up and hits a Burning Hammer which causes both men to drop into the mist below. When they rise, one Doug is inside the glass prison and the other outside. The one inside takes a view of his surroundings before finally giving up and sitting down against the side.]D2: Just remember, I warned you.[At that point, Doug wakes up. He’s covered in sweat and shocked but then a relieved smile develops across his face.]DG: I did it! I am strong enough! [With that, Doug closes his eyes and leans his head back on the pillow.]DG: I did it.
